Obidos
A 7-minute drive from Casaflor. This is a very well restored, authentic, entirely walled medieval town. During daytime it is a tourist draw with attractive shops, restaurants etc. There is also a music centre where concerts are regularly performed.
Caldas da Rainha
A 10-minute drive from Casaflor. This is a more commercial tourist town with an "intermarche", but there is also a traditional market every day.
Various beaches at just a 20-minute drive, both at the lagoon and along the Atlantic Coast: Baleal, Foz d'Arelho, Sao Martinho. In the vicinity there are several historically interesting towns. Sintra and Lisbon are also within reach, because of the new motorway.
